And we wait....

Well today is Monday August 31st and we continue to wait for our little guys arrival. He sure knows how to keep us guessing. Went to the doctor this morning again and there wasn't much news other than that baby is ready and its just a matter of time now.

Dan and I both took the day off work to relax and work thru some of this early labor. If the baby doesn't arrive tonight we'll both return to work tomorrow. Just too frustrating to just sit around and wait! My parents were both here yesterday and drove home this morning - they too, along with Mike and Diane (Dan's parents) wait on pins and needles for the call. Don't worry I wish for nothing less than to be able to place the call! While I know we're still 2.5 weeks from our due date - its a total mind game when you are told 'its coming' that now we're just anxious.
Since we have no 'bigger' news yet today - I'll wish my cousin Gabe a happy 22nd birthday and share with you a few pics from here. For anyone that knows me it will come as no surprise that we're completely ready....thought we'd share for those afar!

Love to all -

Julie

Here is a pic of the crib. Technically our bedding is still on back-order so we've made do! A few pieces arrived (mobile, pillows, etc.) so you get an idea of what it looks like. Its a polka dot/stripe pattern. A shout out to Joni for the amazingly comfy big fluffy puppy.

We might be first time parents - but we're pretty aware of this fact...

One thing this child does not need...any more clothes! I'm not even sure this perspective gives you a good sense of exactly how much we actually have....

Rocker, side table, and organizer bins!

Dan has lots of fun putting all of this stuff together. (oh with a little assistance from Frkol on the Boppy Swing!)

What a weekend...

Well it's now Monday the 31st. We had a very exciting weekend. I was so nervous driving to Peru,IL on Saturday morning to DJ a wedding knowing that our little man could be possibly coming early. Of course my cell phone had no reception in the dance hall which made me even more nervous. Periodic walks in the parking lot were needed to get updates, which I usually never do. Luckily Julie's mom Chris was there to take her to the Hosipital. Huge thanks to Chris for staying with Julie while I was working this weekend. We're both taking the day off to relax. The Anniversay cake was so tasty - the Rassberry Filling and Chocolate Frosting was even better than I remember it from our wedding day. No if I only had one of those Ultimate Carmel Apples from Amy's Gourmet Apples in Cedarburg. Hmmm

I wasn't joking when I said I am uncomfortably big!

What a year!

Today is Sunday August 30th and it marks the anniversary of Dan and my wedding. Seems fitting to be starting this blog today. One year ago today we had the most magical day/night of our lives and today we celebrated it anxiously awaiting the next adventure life will bring us. We've decided to set up this blog since we have so many wonderful friends and family supporting us thru this process who will not be here to share in the everyday joys of our life.

As most of you are aware we are nearing the end of the pregnancy of our first child. While his (yes I did say "his") due date is not until September 19th (or 18th depending who you ask ;) ) all news from the doctors are that this little guy is anxious to get here. Went to the doctor last Tuesday and he was surprised at the progress we'd made. An early AM trip to the hospital this morning again has the doctor thinking it will be early this week that the little Paulsrud will enter the world. Dan was in Peru, IL DJ'in a wedding and thankfully my mom came to spend the weekend with me. I was glad to not be here alone last night when needing to make my first journey to the hospital. All is well - now we just wait. I'm at 37 weeks which they deem full term and its absolutely healthy for the baby to be born anytime now. While they said they won't do anything to speed things up for me - they aren't going to do anything to stop it either. Tomorrow is my cousin Gabe's birthday and Tuesday is my Grandpa Tom's birthday - so I think there are a variety of people pulling for an early week delivery. (me included)

Bags are packed, car seat installed, nursery set up, and one uncomfortably pregnant Julie - I'd say we are ready!

More news to follow.
