Just wanted to document that yesterday we went in for Connor's 8 week check up with Dr. Thrasher. She is so thrilled with how he is growing and progressing...right on track buddy! It was also the first round of shots. Our little guy did pretty good - he was very unhappy at first (as to be expected) but was fast asleep as soon as we got in the car. I thought I was in the clear but should have known better. It was kind of a long evening/night for us - lots of unhappiness from the little man. A bit of that has continued throughout the day today but we're hopeful to be thru the worst of it.
Now for the stats:
Weight: 11 pounds 5 ounces
Height: 23 inches
We're holding our head up really good and smiling and responding to sound/light, etc. So all is on track. The little guy won't go back to see the doctor until the first week of January - woo hoo!
She did tell me that Dan and I really need to get the swine flu vaccine. We talked about my concerns over it being the first round of the vaccination, etc. In the end she feels the positives far out weigh any potential negatives. They are really concerned with how the swine flu can affect infants under 6 months who can't have the shot to protect themselves. So Dan and I will brave it and stand thru the long lines at a clinic on Friday to try to get them. Wish us luck!
Hope all of you remain healthy thru this rocky cold and flu season - seems to be hitting some people hard. Keep on washin those hands! :)
