8 Months Until Connor's First Birthday!

I'll catch up on all the holiday stuff over the course of the week. Lots of pictures and fun stories to share! Until then....just wanted to document today, the day our baby boy turns 4 months old!

Here are some things we've noticed about Connor at 4 months:
  • You LOVE the Christmas tree - if all else fails we can put you in front of the Christmas tree and you stare in utter awe. We might not take it down.....
  • You've started to take formula to help fill your tummy. You've been enjoying Nestle Good Start, which is made at the factory your Grandpa Paulsrud works at! Grandma and Grandpa Paulsrud have kept us in full supply (THANK YOU!)
  • You are so darn close to rolling over its killing us - you are just tweetering and when you do get some of your body over you have no idea what to do with your arm that will allow you to go all the way over. (Back to stomach) You were held a ton (lots of people love you) over the holidays so we'll start to put you back on your playmat more...we're sure you'll be rolling over in no time!
  • Your body is so long that you've already started to wear 6 month sleepers. We're officially closing the doors on almost all 3 month and 3 to 6 month clothes with feet...you're just too long!
  • You are sleeping like a champ - you are sleeping all night and even
  • You LOVE to sleep in the car - when you have trouble calming down I play an episode of Mickey's Clubhouse on my cell phone and you are usually fast asleep by the time the first show is done.
  • Your car seat is getting so tight! The seat is fully extended to give you the most room and we are already having trouble buckling when you have winter clothes on. I think you are fast out-growing your infant car seat/travel system. Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa Paulsrud got you a big boy car seat for Xmas - we're going to need it soon.
  • Today is your very first day of day care. You are going to Mandie's Day Care (http://www.mandiesdaycare.com/) and were greeted this morning by Reagan - an adorable little blonde girl who I'm sure you'll become good buds with. You were all smiles as you were placed in Mandie's arms - your usual charming self! Much harder on Mom and Dad than it was on you.
  • You are going to your 4 month doctors appointment today and....more...SHOTS! Booo to shots, a necessary evil. Dad is taking you - as he has a bit more vacation time so he'll be picking you up at 2 PM. We're anxious to hear how much you weigh - I'm guessing you've tipped the 15 lb. mark on the scale....we'll see how close I am!
  • You are so smiley - your dad can make you smile the most (must be those goofy faces) and you've started to let out what sounds like a little giggle. It's so funny when we can tell you are trying to laugh but nothing is coming out - can't wait to hear what your little laugh sounds like! Until then....your smile lights us up and we'll take it anytime of the day or night.
  • You are taking a full 6 to 7 ounce bottle in every feeding - we are hoping the doctor will give us the green light to start some cereal after your appointment today. You chug your bottles down so fast and get a little tempermental when we try to stop you mid-way for a burp.
  • You keep everyone on their toes to have a burp cloth nearby after you've eaten. You've 'tagged' most of us already!
  • You were blessed to be babysat by some very special people in the month of December. Your Dad, Grandma Chris, Grandma and Grandpa Paulsrud, Bill and Sue Komarek, and Marla Santos. They all loved spending time with you - which made your moms transition back to work a bit easier.
  • You got to see the big Christmas Tree at Macy's on State Street in Chicago. (ok always will be Marshall Fields in my mind...but I digress) It was always a tradition in your moms family to make it to see the tree and we're thrilled to pass the tradition on to you. You slept thru most of it - but did wake up for a bit to check out all the lights! It was a little too cold for you to see the Christmas Windows outside the store - but that will be a stop on our trip next year.
  • You still have your red hair - strangers ALWAYS comment on it. We think its adorable and hope your hair doesn't start to change colors.
  • You eyes have almost completely turned brown - looks like you are going to have dark eyes like your dad.
  • We've found out that our close friends the Happ's and the Goodbred's are both having baby boys - due in May. Looks like you are going to have some new playmates soon!!!
  • You can be passed from person to person without any issue. You are a total snuggler and will snuggle up with anyone that will have you. (which there usually is no shortage of)
  • You do great in both restaurants and church. You usually sleep thru church but when you are awake you usually are content just looking around. We have no issues taking you to restaurants (even busy and loud ones) - as long as there is a bottle close by (you hate to see us eat alone) you are happy as a clam.
  • You still love your baths - we can't wait to get you in the water for swim lessons
  • You babble babble babble - looks like you are going to be a talker
  • Here is what you looked like at 4 months:
