Saying Goodbye

Olive A. Dunnum, age 79, of Eau Claire died peacefully at home on Thursday, May 24, 2012.


She was born September 20, 1932 in Eau Claire, WI to Selmer “Sam” and Agnes (nee Gunderson) Flaskrud. Olive grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High. Olive’s first marriage to Oscar Paulsrud resulted in five children. She later married Lester Dunnum who preceded her in death in 1980.

Olive worked at One Hour Martinizing and was the owner/operator of Carriage House Cleaners. She then worked in the custodial department of UWEC for 30 years. She loved traveling with her sisters, Yulebakken, camping at Wildwood and going to Ole’s. Olive was a life member at the VFW Post 7232 Auxiliary.

She was a sassy, wild woman up until the end.

Survivors include her children: Pamela Paulsrud, Michael (Diane) Paulsrud, Kim (Carol Court) Paulsrud, Mark (Bobbi Potter) Paulsrud, and Jody (Sarah) Paulsrud all of Eau Claire; grandchildren: Jason Cameric, Dan Paulsrud, Kristopher Kelly, Amanda Kelly, Jennifer, Jake, Christina, Gabby, Josh, and Logan Paulsrud; great-grandsons: Dane, Isaiah, Quenten, and Connor; brother Dennis Flaskrud; sisters: Avis Blake and Sandy Smith; and sisters-in-law: Shirley, Peggy, and Nancy Flaskrud.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson JR, and brothers George and Gerald.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 1:30pm at Stokes, Prock, and Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona, with Rev. Frederick Theiste officiating. Friends may call from 11:30am until the time of service.
